Tour Planning with passion

When we planned our first, longer motorcycle tours, there were no navigation systems, no apps, and no electronic maps. There were... paper maps. Folding maps. We loved them! 1:200,000 was ideal. Overview and detail. And then there were those roads that you could only find by looking at the map very often and for a long time. And then quickly sticking a yellow Post-It on it 🤣

Even back then, those were the roads that only a few people found and drove. And fortunately, that hasn't changed, even in the age of self-planning navigation systems, route planners, and electronic maps where you can zoom into 1:1,000 detail just by spreading two fingers on the screen. Good thing!

Whenever we plan for ourselves, we're on the lookout for exactly these roads.

As soon as we see the tornanti sign, our hearts leap.
"They [switchbacks, hairpin bends, Italian "tornanti"] are used worldwide to access mountain slopes or to overcome a mountain range or a cliff. In some cases, switchbacks are also characterized by a scenic route (scenic road), so their function as an excursion and recreational road comes to the fore." (Source: Wikipedia, tanslated)

The tools for planning have changed, but our passion has remained. The one for the small, hidden roads, and the one for planning.

We love it!

With TOURNANTI, we're realizing our long-held idea of turning our passion into a service. We enjoy it. And those who would like to take amazing, unique motorcycle tours but don't like planning have fun too. Win: Win 😎

We have the most personal experience with Italy, the central Alpine region, western France (Western Alps, Maritime Alps, Provence, Cévennes, Côte d'Azur), and Corsica. However, we are also happy to help in other European countries and even with "exotic" destinations like the southwestern USA / Grand Canyon.
